About Papa Gino's

Papa Gino's began in 1961 as a single East Boston pizza shop. When the family of Papa Gino's founder, Michael Valerio, sailed from Italy to Boston in 1936, they brought with them authentic Italian family recipes handed down through generations. These were the recipes Michael and his wife, Helen, used when they opened their first pizzeria, Piece O'Pizza. This restaurant soon became known throughout Boston as the place to go for pizza of superior quality and unique flavor.

Do not order from Papa Ginos if you want a real pizza. They barely put cheese on their cheese pizza. Yesterday, I order a turkey sub and the girl gave me turkey meat in bread. Something said to open up the sandwich and look at it before I left and to my surprise there was just meat in bread. I paid 5 dollars for meat and bread. There was NO mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion or anything. I took back up and complained and was told that mayo, lettuce, and tomato was extra and has a fee! Again DO NOT EAT HERE. My experience was at the Papa Ginos in Brighton. You do not get your money's worth at Papa Ginos.

Papa Gino's in Somerville's Twin City Mall has the BEST pizza anywhere and I recommend asking for extra sauce! Their delivery time is really long (up to one and one half hours), but if you call early enough, it is WORTH the wait!
